Fact
l In 2024 Elections, Total number of Polling Stations was 10,52,664 as compared to 10,37,848 Polling Stations in 2019 Elections. There was an Increase of
14,816 Polling Stations in absolute numbers and the Increase % was 1.43%.
l In almost all the States/ UTs, there was some increase in the number of Polling Stations in 2024 as compared to number of Polling Stations in 2019
except the 5 States/ UTs i.e. Puducherry, NCT of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh & Gujarat because of rationalization of Polling Stations.
l The highest Increase in number of Polling Stations in 2024 as compared to number of Polling Stations in 2019 was observed in Bihar (4739 PSs)
followed by West Bengal (1731 PSs).
