As a part of the celebra ons of the 10 Na onal Voters'
Day, an annual memorial lecture series named a er the
first Chief Elec on Commissioner of India (1950-1958)
was ins tuted.
While announcing the concept of Sukumar Sen Memorial
Lecture Series on behalf of Elec on Commission at a book
launch in New Delhi on February 07, 2019 the then Chief
Elec on Commissioner Sunil Arora had observed “It would
be Commission's endeavour to involve a wide cross-
sec on of civil society including poli cal par es, media,
cons tu onalists, legal luminaries, academia etc. This
lecture would be delivered by an eminent person from the
democra c world, whose contribu on for the spread and
furtherance of democra c values and ideals is widely
