Legal Provisions / Guidelines l The General Election to the House of People-2024 to constitute the 18th Lok
Sabha was held based on the extent of Parliamentary Constituencies as
l On an average, the size of an AC does not extend to more than the size of
a district. The formula based on which, the number of ACs were allocated contained in the “Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies
to a district was: Order-2008” except the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and the State of Assam.
Number of ACs in a District = Total Population of the district / Average
