Leap of Faith Journey of Indian Elections
Matdata Junction:
In a major broadcasting initiative aimed at participatory
elections, Election Commission of India, in collaboration
with All India Radio, recently launched a yearlong radio
series -‘Matdata Junction: Har Voter Ka Apna Station’. A
total of 52 episodes of 15 minutes were planned to be
broadcast in 23 languages across 230 AIR stations. e first
episode went on air on October 7, 2022.
Pla orms for Electoral Literacy
Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs), Chunav Pathshalas and
Voter Awareness Forums (VAFs) serve as pla orms to
disseminate electoral literacy amongst targe ed
segments of popula on. While the ELC target students in
age 14+ category in schools, colleges and universi es, the
Chunav Pathshalas cater to the needs of rural popula on
who remain outside the fold of formal educa on, and
VAFs aim to promote electoral literacy in government and
