The Elec on Commission also revised
certain norms related to the nomina on
filing process, elec on campaign etc in view
of the COVID-19 situa on. These could be
summarised as:

1) Number of persons accompanying the
candidate for submission of Nomina on
was restricted to 2 (two) instead of 5
(five) persons.

2) The number of vehicles for the purpose
of nomina on was restricted to 2 (two)
instead of 3 (three) vehicles.

3) Facility was created for filling in the
nomina on form and the affidavit
online and submission of the same a er
taking print before the Returning Officer
(RO) concerned.

4) For the first me, the candidates would
be able to deposit a security amount
online for contes ng the elec ons.

5) Keeping the containment guidelines in
view, the Commission limited the
number of persons including candidate
for door to door campaign to 5 (five)

6) The convoy of vehicles in road shows
should be broken up a er every 5 (five)
vehicles instead of 10 vehicles (excluding
security vehicles, if any). The interval
between two sets of convoys of vehicles
should be half an hour instead of a gap of
100 meters.
